Collection: The Montana Plan

The Montana Plan is working to put Montana voters—not corporate and dark money—back at the center of our elections. Their Transparent Election Initiative, I-194, would limit election spending by corporations and other “artificial persons,” eliminate anonymous political spending, and make it easier for Montanans to see who is trying to influence their vote.

At its heart, the idea is simple: Montana’s elections should belong to Montanans. When corporations, dark-money groups, trade associations, and billionaire-funded networks can pour money into elections, ordinary voters and small businesses can easily be drowned out. The Montana Plan is working to change that—and to show that Montana can create a model other states can follow.
